A lot of people ask questions when they see you shake. I started wearing a medical alert bracelet five years ago, and honestly, it’s just about as important as wearing my wedding ring. There are ones that look like jewelry, this latest one is silicone and cost me about $13US. I like that it has a QR code so my details aren’t broadcast out for the world. An EMT, for instance, can scan and will see my photo, address, ICE (in case of emergency number) and the contact info for my doctors. And it kinda looks like a Fitbit. So what do you have to lose by wearing one? I don’t see any negatives. Just gives me street cred - what I have is real! People relax more around you if they don’t understand what essential tremor is when they see this.
Be seen.
