ET and Cannabis?
With medical cannabis gaining a more reputable position in the medical community in the West, often legal in some states and in other countries, it’s not surprising that folks with Essential Tremor are often asked, does medical marijuana help your tremors? We hear, “it seems to help everyone who ails.” Well, I’ve tried it myself - and, yes, a variety of types - and it just does not agree with me personally. So I do not imbibe.
Just I was curious however, what others with ET had to say, so I conducted a 24-hour poll of our members on the IFETC Facebook page and here are the results. Of 172 participants, the break down is as follows:
- Helped a lot 13%
- Helped somewhat 0%
- Helped secondary ailments such as anxiety and sleep 13%
- No net positive effect 18%
- Does not use cannabis 46%
- CBD/THC products 3%
So, perhaps, though we all wish we could find a better solution, cannabis may not work for everyone. Many have tried, but not for all.
